Development Tester for Boeing 777/787 Landing Gear
MOOG Inc., a Tier 1 aircraft supplier to Boeing, needed a Development Tester for the landing gear on the next generation jumbo jet Boeing 777/787, which is currently the largest aircraft available on the market. North Valley Group worked with MOOG to develop a landing gear tester using high precision data acquisitions to measure every aspect of the landing gear operations. As a result, MOOG was able to release a new landing gear to Boeing. This Landing Gear Development Tester can be used for developing any variations required for this landing gear class size.
In Line Production Engine Bore Tester
Ford Powertrain needed a new In Line Production Engine Bore Tester to test engines with higher emission standards, better efficiency, and produce a lower carbon footprint. The old way of testing engine bore on the production line was no longer adequate. The Engine Bore Tester needed to detect engine imperfections within the engine. North Valley Group accepted the challenge and found a solution with the help from the University of Michigan research by utilizing custom laser sensors to display the engine bore surface imperfections as a 3D graph. This enabled North Valley Group to design and build an Engine Bore Tester with Ford Powertrain that will enable their development of new and better engines in the future.

Multi-Purpose Medical Device Cleaner
Stryker Sustainability needed an automated solution to clean thousands of medical parts and equipment in a single step process. North Valley Group worked with the design team and researchers to develop and build a durable and long lasting machine by minimizing the use of as many moving parts as possible (i.e., motors, ball bearings, etc.) to produce a machine that operates on gravity, air flow, and water pressure. This medical device cleaner performs beyond the customer’s expectations.
North Valley Group also designed the electrical wiring to minimize the use of massive wiring bundles by utilizing the leading Industrial Ethernet communications. This simplified the build and maintenance of the system, as well as reduced the cost and effort of future upgrades.
Automated Oil Well Drilling & Monitoring
Nabor Inc. needed an automated system to monitor and control oil flow to prevent catastrophic safety hazards from occurring, which can be caused by extracting too much or too little oil during oil extraction from an well. Each oil rig will have over 10,000 embedded sensors to monitor and control the system. Monitoring all these sensors requires real time data acquisition to prevent a catastrophic situation from occurring. North Valley Group accepted the challenge and found a solution with the help from Texas A&M to come up with an advanced mathematical model to collect, process, and predict all drilling process parameters. The model was successfully implemented into our Automated Control System using leading edge Data Acquisition technology and installed within Nabor Inc. systems.

Durability Multi-Functional Switch Tester
Methode Electronics, an automotive Tier 1 supplier, needed to be able to test its vehicle turn signal stalk modules in the shortest amount of time and with the smallest margin of error. North Valley Group helped Methode Electronics develop and build a Durability Tester that simultaneously completed testing of up to 40 modules, with over a thousand high precision data acquisition channels, in less than 5 minutes. (North Valley Group was able to accomplish this success through the use of leading edge Data Acquisition technology.)
The Durability Tester reports test results and any deviations in the data acquisitions.
End of Line Tester for Baby Heartbeat Monitor
Boston Scientific needed an End of Line (EoL) Tester for their new Baby Heartbeat Monitor, which is a medical device requiring FDA certification. The EoL Tester was required to test over a thousand steps and be flexible enough to adapt to the variation of the device with minimal maintenance. North Valley Group helped Boston Scientific develop and build an EoL Tester that was modular with a simple design to allow for changes to this complex system. The EoL Tester completes its test in less than 3 minutes, which includes load testing. Our modular design approach allowed the system to be readily modified to allow for an unlimited number of variations to the baby monitor, which enables Boston Scientific to make device modifications with minimal impact to the EoL Tester.
